Frequently Asked Questions
We have three easy ways to book – Follow the booking link from our website, download our DARC app which is the easiest way to manage your sessions, or call us at the clinic on 9755 6023.

We request that you wear form-fitting swimwear or lycra into our Float Tank, as our Recovery Centre is open planned and all the facilities share the same space. Some people like to float with earplugs to help soften any ambient sounds, your welcome to bring your own or we have reusable silicone floating/swimming earplugs for sale at reception. Please bring two towels – one to use straight after you exit the tank and one to use after you have showered. Comfortable, loose fitting clothes and shoes are recommended for afterwards, and please arrive hydrated and be sure to drink plenty of water after your float too.

Lycra or form-fitting swimwear is ideal. For men, we recommend ‘speedos’ or athletic-brief styled swimwear. We request that no board shorts or loose-fitting clothing is worn in the tank, as we want you to absorb the magnesium – not your clothes.

Our Float Tank session are 45 minutes in duration. However, if you are a frequent floater and want more time in there to drop in and Zen out, please enquire via phone so we can accommodate you.

We are proudly a licensed Aquatic Facility with the Western Australia department of health and as such uphold our duty of care to keep our water hygienic and safe at all times. The incredibly high concentration of salt in our Float Tank creates a naturally anti-microbial environment. We clean our tank multiple times per day and all water is filtered after each session using both ozone technology and a 10-micron filter bag. Finally, a chlorine solution is added daily to create an inhospitable environment for pathogens and micro-organisms. We are subject to monthly water testing from the Busselton city council.

If you are feeling a bit anxious at the thought of your first float, you are welcome to leave the lid open on the Float Tank for your session, and are able to pull it down when you feel more comfortable. We do encourage people to give it a try with the lid down for a few reasons – with the lid closed we are able to maintain a constant water temperature of 35 degrees Celsius, and you may find yourself feeling chilly towards the end of your session if the lid is open. The Float Tank is in a shared space, so while the others in the room can’t see you floating in the tank, you may feel more comfortable with it closed. Plus, the tank is very spacious, the air ventilation is excellent, and you are welcome to leave the lights on for your whole session if you would prefer.

Yes, you are able to have your Acupuncture session before (not after) your float, however the use of cupping is not recommended before floating, so if that is a treatment you would normally have, make sure to book your float and Acupuncture on separate days.

Yes, if you would like to book a float, you can do this after your sauna and ice session, but not before (the salt can damage our equipment and water quality). Most people do choose to book their float as a stand-alone session, as it really is a completely difference experience of calm & restoration, compared to a Sauna and Ice session which leaves you feeling amazing and on a natural high.

Some of you may have visited a float centre or spa with a float tank previously. Although we have gone to every effort to create a beautiful, relaxing space for you to float in, we would like to highlight that we are not a float centre and as such you may have a different experience to what you are used to. We are a busy Acupuncture clinic with a Recovery Centre, our services and equipment centre around their health and recovery benefits and the space is designed to be functional. To keep costs as affordable as possible we have forgone some of the luxury comforts that you would have experienced in a dedicated float centre.

Please do not book a float if you have:

Fresh tattoos, recent fake tan or hair dye (a minimum of 2 weeks)

Float tanks are generally safe for most people; however, use is contraindicated for anyone with the following:

Cuts, abrasions, ulcers, open wounds & skin conditions
Sensitivity to chlorine, bromine, sulfates or magnesium
Claustrophobia
Uncontrolled epilepsy or seizures
Cardiovascular conditions
Kidney Disease
Psychiatric disorders
Recent Chemotherapy or Radiation Therapy
Incontinence issues
Pregnancy

*If you are unsure, we ask you consult your healthcare provider before partaking in Float Tank use to confirm it is appropriate for you.

Recovery Centre rescheduling and cancellations can be done through our DARC App. Alternatively, you can call the clinic on 9755 6023 and speak to one of our friendly reception staff.

Recovery centre sessions cancelled within 3 hours of when they are booked will be charged a 50% cancellation fee. No-shows will forfeit their session fee entirely.
