Ice Bath

Level up your wellness routine with Cold Water Therapy. Designed to be used in conjunction with our Infrared Saunas, our Ice Bath is cooled to between 3-5 degrees Celsius and has a continuous water flow to prevent thermal pockets from forming around your body. The vasoconstriction created by using an Ice Bath helps to minimise inflammation and relieves sore muscles by constricting blood vessels, reducing swelling and flushing out waste products from your muscles. Regular users also know how incredible it is for mental fatigue and stress, thanks to the elevated adrenaline, dopamine and endorphins levels post use.

Frequently Asked Questions
We have three easy ways to book – Follow the booking link from our website, download our DARC app which is the easiest way to manage your sessions, or call us at the clinic on 9755 6023.
It is recommended that you warm up in the Sauna first for 15-20 minutes, have a rinse under the central shower, then hop in the Ice Bath. The sauna raises your core temperature first, meaning that the contrast between heat and cold is greater and therefore, more effective. You are welcome to do two or three rounds of Sauna & Ice, or simply Sauna for the session and finish with a dip in the Ice Bath.
As a guide, 2-3 times per week is ideal, but warning – it is addictive so you are welcome to visit us as often as you like.
We think you are amazing for getting in for any length of time! It is good idea however to start slowly, then build up to 2-4 minutes, keeping your body submerged up to your shoulders. Our Ice Bath sits lower to the ground than most for ease of getting in and out. Hot tip: keeping your hands out of the water can help when you are first getting started.
We are proudly a licensed Aquatic Facility with the Western Australia department of health and as such uphold our duty of care to keep our water hygienic and safe at all times. Our Ice Bath is cleaned between each Recovery Centre session, the water in it is continuously cleaned as it filters through the unit, and we use a chlorine solution to create an inhospitable environment for pathogens and micro-organisms. We are subject to monthly water testing from the Busselton city council.
In short, no. It is not recommended for safety and hygiene reasons, plus it does not make any difference to the benefits of using our Ice Bath – you will still get all the same health benefits without submerging your neck and head.

Ice Baths are generally safe for most people; however, use is contraindicated for anyone with the following:

Cardiovascular Conditions, Respiratory Conditions, Pregnancy, Raynaud’s Disease, Circulatory Conditions, Skin Conditions (eg Eczema, open wounds, cuts, infections) and Chronic Health Conditions.

*If you are unsure, we ask you consult your healthcare provider before partaking in Ice Bath use to confirm it is appropriate for you.

Recovery Centre rescheduling and cancellations can be done through our DARC App. Alternatively, you can call the clinic on 9755 6023 and speak to one of our friendly reception staff.

Recovery centre sessions cancelled within 3 hours of when they are booked will be charged a 50% cancellation fee. No-shows will forfeit their session fee entirely.
